What's wrong with exploring for oil in ANWR and off-shore on the continental shelf?

I mean how many of you folks go to ANWR or 50 miles off the coast to vacation every year? As long as it is out of site shouldn't it be out of mind? Aren't you sick and tired of depending on Iran, Iraq, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela to name just a few for your energy needs, not to mention them getting all of our money? Just talking about opening up exploration in the U.S. already has the Saudi's bumping up production. Imagine the impact it would have on OPEC's psychy if we really did start drilling domestically.
