Am I the only one who can smell static?!?

I'm starting to think I'm crazy and my boyfriend doesn't believe me either. I read something about static electricity producing ozone which some dogs can smell but I would like to know why only small amounts of people can smell this. When I get close to a t.v. or run my hand on a blanket and I hear that crackle, I can even smell it on my hand afterwards. It is very strong. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.
