Would you consider the following to be rather insane?

I agree with abolishing the electoral system for the sake of 1 person = 1 vote. Then again, there is a good argument that if we didn't have electoral votes then politicians would only cater to heavily populated areas, literally meaning they would only visit around 3-4 states the entire season. Luckily, those areas tend to be left-wing, so i personally see no problem in that.
